Capture The Flag

Updated 3 min read

Capture The Flag is a team-based minigame where two or four teams fight over each other's flags. Steal an enemy flag, carry it back to the map's center, and hold it there long enough to score — while your own team defends its flag and the center from the same fate. It combines PvP, movement, map knowledge, and tactical block placement, and rewards coordinated teamwork over solo plays.

Goal

The first team to reach 3 points wins. If only one team still has active players left, that team wins as well.

Teams

Depending on the round, you'll play in 2-team (red/blue) or 4-team (red/blue/green/yellow) matches. Pick your team in the lobby — a full team can't be joined, and if a team is too empty right before the round starts, players are automatically redistributed to keep things fair.

Capturing flags

Flags appear as colored banners at each team's base.

  • Break an enemy flag to steal it — it appears on your head while you carry it, and you're slowed down so the enemy team has a fair chance to chase you down.
  • You can't pick up a second flag while already carrying one, and your own team's flag can't be stolen the same way — only returned if it's loose.
  • Bring a stolen flag to the map's center to place it there. This starts a 20-second capture countdown, during which no other flag can be secured at the same time.
  • If the countdown finishes successfully, your team scores a point, everyone is teleported back to their spawns, all flags reset, and any blocks placed during the round are removed.
  • If the flag carrier dies before reaching the center, the flag resets back to its original point — so hunting down carriers is a real way to stop a capture.

Building

You get a limited set of team-colored blocks to build with during the round — useful for quick bridges, cover, or cutting off escape routes. Blocks can only be placed up to the map's build limit, and only blocks placed by players can be broken again. Everything you've built disappears automatically after a successful capture.

Combat and respawning

Dying doesn't drop your items — your gear stays with you and you respawn automatically. Kills are credited to whoever you fought last, and both kills and deaths count toward your stats.

Tips

  • Don't go for a flag alone — bring teammates to cover your retreat, since you're slowed while carrying it.
  • Defend the center as much as your own flag; that's where captures actually get secured.
  • If an enemy flag carrier gets close to your team's spawn, chasing them down is often easier than defending the center directly — slowed targets are easy to catch.
