ME System: upgrade tiers, controls and fixes
v26.8
Upgrade tiers
-
ADDED
The ME Controller can now be upgraded, connecting more chests with every tier.
- Tier 1: 50 chests (default)
- Tier 2: 80 chests — 50,000 $
- Tier 3: 110 chests — 120,000 $
- Tier 4: 140 chests — 250,000 $
- Tier 5: 170 chests — 500,000 $
- Tier 6: 200 chests — 1,000,000 $
Upgrades are bought with money in the controller menu. The button sits in the top middle.
-
UPDATE
Important: the default size is now 50 chests. Larger networks lose the surplus chests from the group.
- Opening the controller tells you when the limit is in effect
- Which chests stay connected is decided by their distance to the controller
Nothing is lost in the process — the chests keep their contents, they just no longer show up in the ME menu. An upgrade reconnects them.
-
FIX
A controller can now be moved without losing anything.
- The upgrade tier survives breaking the controller
- Linked wireless terminals keep working after the move
A newly placed controller used to get a new identifier, so every linked wireless terminal had to be re-linked afterwards.
Controls
-
ADDED
Right-clicking an item asks for the amount you want in chat.
- The amount is capped by stock and free inventory space — nothing ends up on the floor
- If it had to be capped, the message says so
Left-click (one item) and shift-click (up to 64) are unchanged. "cancel" aborts.
-
ADDED
New network info item in the controller menu.
- Connected chests and the tier's limit
- Free and total slots
- Number of item types and total items stored
- A short reference for the click options
-
UPDATE
Storing through the Shulker Box now reports in chat how many items actually went in.
If not everything fits into the network, the remainder is shown as well. When nothing was stored there is no message at all — previously the system spoke up even for an empty box.
Fixes
-
FIX
Storing items could duplicate them.
- The tidy-up button made the stock grow further with every press
If the network already held partially filled stacks of the same item, more items ended up in the network than were put in. This affected the input Shulker Box and the tidy-up button.
-
FIX
The wireless terminal now works on the first attempt.
If the area around the controller was not loaded, the menu opened and closed again immediately; only the second attempt worked.
-
FIX
Items whose own description starts with "Stored" can be withdrawn again.
Those items were shown in the menu, but clicking them did nothing.
Performance
-
UPDATE
The controller menu builds considerably faster.
- The tidy-up button was affected on top of that and is now many times faster
- So is storing through the Shulker Box
The stock used to be counted in a very expensive way. On a well-filled network that could keep the server busy for several ticks — on every open, every page turn and every withdrawal.
-
UPDATE
The chest search no longer reaches across arbitrary distances.
A very long chest chain could make the server load far-away areas on every menu build. The limit sits far beyond any normal storage room and is not noticeable in game.
